Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "James Hamilton & Co. / Greensboro. Pa.," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with inner "wax sealer" rim, featuring diagonal James Hamilton maker's stenciling including a long stenciled flourish and stenciled flower blossom. Traces of old gray-and-black paint to surface. A small base chip on reverse. A small surface chip near base on side of jar. Heavy chipping to interior of rim. H 8 1/8".
