Copper-and-Manganese-Decorated Redware Flowerpot, Stamped "SOLOMON BELL / STRASBURG / Va.," circa 1850-1880, ovoid form with coggled shoulder and attached saucer, the surface coated in a whitish slip and decorated on the front and reverse with a swag motif in manganese slip and lead-and-copper glaze. Significant losses to base. An additional small base chip. A few chips to coggled shoulder molding. Traces of old red paint to surface. H 7 1/4".
