Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Flower Basket Decoration, Stamped "WEST TROY, / N.Y. / POTTERY.," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a basket brimming with flowers, leaves, and dotted trails. Cobalt accents to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 4 3/4" Y-shaped surface line to shoulder on front, not visible on interior. A 5" Y-shaped line to left of decoration. A small in-the-firing ping to rim on front. A 5" Y-shaped surface line descending from shoulder on reverse, not visible on interior. A 3" surface line on underside, not visible on interior. An in-the-firing iron ping to reverse. Staining throughout. H 11 3/4".
