Scarce Glazed Redware Pitcher, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, ovoid pitcher with footed base, large spout, and spurred handle, the exterior covered in black lead-and-manganese glaze. Clear lead glaze to interior. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark below spout. Provenance: From an eighty-plus year private collection. Shallow chipping around bottom edge. Light surface wear to body and handle. Small chips and wear to rim. A faint 2 1/2" crack from rim. Some restoration to spout. H 8 7/8".
