Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "E.J. MILLER & CO. / QUEENSWARE & C. / ALEXANDRIA . VA.," Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring Elisha Janney Miller merchant's stenciling surrounding a scrolled stenciled flourish. Small stenciled tulips above and a stenciled "2" with flourishes below. Freehand stripes to shoulder and base. Some small areas of fry to cobalt. Staining. A minor surface scratch to base. H 11 7/8".
