Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JULIUS NORTON / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1840, highly-ovoid jug with squared spout, brush-decorated with a tulip. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A large spout chip and small spout chip. Brown residue from use to spout and upper handle. Reverse and side with glaze spalling / matte finish to glaze. H 15".
