Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, American, 19th century, a three-gallon ovoid jar with brushed floral motif, stamped "THOMAS D. CHOLLAR / HOMER," NY State origin, second quarter 19th century; paired with an unmarked, two-gallon ovoid jug with brushed floral decoration, mid 19th century. Provenance: Estate of author and historian, Nancy Shedd, Petersburg, PA. Jar with rim chips, chips to inner rim for lid, a small nick to shoulder molding on reverse, and staining. Jug with a large and small in-the-firing spout chip. H (of jug) 14 1/4".
