Rare Liverpool Creamware Pitcher with George Washington and Boston Frigate Motifs, English, late 18th or early 19th century, ovoid pitcher with beak-like spout, decorated on one side with an elaborate patriotically-themed design featuring George Washington's bust surrounded by fifteen stars bearing the name of the first fifteen states; decorated on the opposite side with a colored depiction of "BOSTON FRIGATE." Front with Federal eagle motif below the initials, "MW," within a wreath. Drape-and-tassel border to rim. A network of sealed cracks from rim on reverse. Two sealed cracks to one side, measuring 5 1/2" and 3 1/2". A minor rim chip and tiny sliver of clay missing along crack on reverse. H 10 1/2".
