Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, second half 19th century, a spittoon with foliate decoration, circa 1875, paired with a cylindrical jar with hanging tulip motif repeating three times around the body. Spittoon with rim chips, a 1 1/4" line from opening at center, and some in-the-firing dryness to surface. Jar with tight spider crack on underside, including three lines extending onto base area in three places, a 3" hairline from rim and a 2 1/2" inverted Y-shaped hairline from rim. H (of jar) 8 3/4" ; Dimensions (of spittoon): 8 1/4" x 4 5/8".
