Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Large Cobalt Bird-on-Branch Decoration, Ballard Vale, MA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a heavily-detailed branch. A restored crack extending through decoration. Large restored section to one handle. Two thin cracks from rim on reverse. A small Y-shaped line to midsection on reverse. Lines to top of rim. Minor chips to interior of rim. H 10 3/8".
