Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug with Rock Teeth, Signed "Lanier Meaders," Cleveland, GA, circa 1975, ovoid jug with hand-modeled and applied clay face including kaolin eyes with black-slip pupils and incised eyelashes, ears, pointed nose, chin, and open mouth with rock teeth. Surface covered in a mottled green alkaline glaze. Underside incised with Lanier Meaders signature. Provenance: Purchased by the consignor from the artist in 1975. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 10 1/2".
