Rare Black-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Signed "Lanier Meaders," Cleveland, GA origin, circa 1980s, ovoid jug with hand-modeled and applied clay face including kaolin eyes with black-slip pupils, pointed nose, ears, and open mouth with kaolin teeth. Surface covered in a highly unusual black gun metal glaze. Underside incised with Lanier Meaders signature. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 10".
