Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Walking Man Decoration, OH origin, third quarter 19th century, semi-ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, brush-decorated with a large design of a walking man with hat. Cobalt-script "2" to shoulder. A visually-appealing folk art image, executed in an unusually large size. A 3" hairline from spout on left side of jug. A 3/4" in-the-firing contact mark to handle. An in-the-firing discolored area to midsection of decoration. A 1 1/4" base chip. Traces of old red paint to surface. H 13 1/2".
