One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS / BINGHAMTON.N.Y.," circa 1848-1888, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Some fry to cobalt. Staining to base. An in-the-firing iron ping to rim on reverse. H 7 3/8".
