Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Dated 1886, Stamped "J. BURGER / ROCHESTER, N.Y.," 1886, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, featuring a brushed and slip-trailed floral motif below the slip-trailed date, "1886," and number "2." Few dated examples of Burger family stoneware are known. Brushed cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Large spout chip on reverse and a tiny nick to molding at base of spout. H 14".
