One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON. / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1855, cylindrical jug with squared spout, decorated with an unusual slip-trailed design of a tulip with cobalt-accented petals. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Very nice condition with tiny in-the-firing iron pings to surface, a minor in-the-firing contact mark to reverse, a small chip to top of spout, a minor chip to exterior of spout, and a minor chip to interior of spout. H 11 3/8".
