Possibly Unique Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird-on-Scale Decoration, attributed to the Fulper Pottery, Flemington, NJ, late 19th century, cylindrical jug with tapered spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a Fulper-style bird hanging by its beak from a scale inscribed "5 LB." This jug is the only piece of stoneware decorated in this manner that we have seen. Some staining. A small, glazed-over spout chip and tiny glazed-over spout nick. Some tiny in-the-firing iron pings. H 15 1/2".
