Unusual Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Molded Handles, probably New England origin, mid 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, and flared rim, the shoulder decorated with incised wavy combing between coggled vertical column motifs. Molded and applied handles in the form of nuts and leaves. Dipped iron slip decoration to rim and base. Salt-glazed surface. One side with a 1 1/4" rim chip and a tight 4 1/4" crack from rim. An additional 4 1/4" crack from rim on reverse. H 12 3/4".
