One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H.C. SMITH / ALEXA / D.C.," circa 1835, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and rounded rim, brush-decorated with a sweeping floral motif on the front and with four stylized floral devices on the reverse. Significant restoration. Base chips. A long curving hairline extending from shoulder to base on reverse. H 10".
