Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock, Stamped "R.C.R. / PHILA.," Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and ribbed lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with brushed foliate motifs. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and a curving line of cobalt below each handle. Impressed with "R.C.R." maker's mark under one handle. Large area of restoration to one handle. A restored rim chip. Some restoration to base. Spider line to underside. H 9 1/4" ; Diam. 9 1/4".
