Fine One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, ovoid pitcher with footed base, decorated with an elaborate brushed flowering plant design featuring unusual Germanic tulip blossoms. Swag decoration flanking the spout. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: From a recently-surfaced PA collection, purchased by the consignor between 1963 and 1975. Very nice condition. A small chip to interior of spout. A 1" surface line to left of spout, which does not extend through to interior. A 1 1/4" semi-circular surface line to spout, which does not extend through to interior. H 10 3/4".
