Exceptional Cold-Painted Stoneware Spaniel Doorstop, attributed to the George Bagnall Pottery, Newcomerstown, OH, circa 1870-1910, full-bodied figure of a seated spaniel on base with incised details to face, hair, paws, and locket. Surface with appealing, old black, red, and white paint. Provenance: Garth's Auction, Tom and Carol Porter Collection, Nov. 26-27, 2004. A 1 1/4" base chip and minor base chip, both painted black. A tiny chip to nose, painted black. H 10".
