Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Jar, Stamped "S. BELL & SON. / STRASBURG,", VA origin, circa 1890, ovoid jar with rounded rim, the lead-glazed surface coated in cream-colored slip and decorated with splashed copper and manganese. Faint, partial S. Bell & Sons maker's stamp near shoulder. Several very tight hairlines to rim, some descending to shoulder area. Light surface wear. Staining. H 7".
