Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Spittoon, attributed to J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, cylindrical form with footed base, tooled midsection, and rounded shoulder with carved oval opening, the surface covered in cream-colored slip, decorated with splashed copper and manganese, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Chips and wear to base. Small chips to opening at shoulder. Exfoliation around rounded edge at top. A minor fleck of glaze loss to shoulder. H 3 1/4" ; Diam. 7".
