Rare Slip-Decorated Redware Vase, attributed to Anthony Bacher, Winchester, VA, circa 1880, ovoid vase with squared foot and flared rim, the surface dipped in a sporadic cream-colored slip and decorated with streaks of manganese. The areas that are cream-slip-coated include a light lead glaze. Desirable form. The incomplete glaze on this vase occurred in the making as there is now virtually no wear on the piece. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 8 7/8".
