One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cherries Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG. PA," circa 1865, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, decorated with a brushed design of three cherries hanging from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Desirable design and size, featuring excellent color. A 1 3/8" chip to exterior of rim. Small chips to interior of rim. Staining to surface. H 7 7/8".
