Scarce Glazed Redware Hunt Scene Pitcher, Stamped "JOHN W BELL / Waynesboro, Pa," circa 1880, molded pitcher with twig-form handle and relief scenes of hounds taking down a stag and boar. Surface covered in a streaky lead-and-manganese glaze. Relatively few examples of this form bear a John W. Bell maker's mark. Restored chips to one side of rim. Light wear to spout and surface. In-the-firing contact marks (shallow chips) to bottom edge. H 7 3/4".
