Pair of Three-Gallon Stoneware Crocks with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N.A. WHITE & SON, / UTICA, N.Y.," circa 1885, both of cylindrical form with applied lug handles and semi-rounded rim, decorated with vibrant brushed and slip-trailed orchid motifs. Cobalt highlights to maker's marks and capacity marks. Crocks feature subtle differences in their decorations and different capacity marks. One with large cracks on underside, extending partway up reverse, where it forms a T, as well as chips and flakes to rim, some crudely filled. Other crock with a few rim chips and a minor flake to underside. H (of each) 10 1/2".
