Three-Gallon Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "BOSTON," attributed to Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, early 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, featuring dipped iron-oxide decoration at the rim and base. Remnants of a potter's hand print in iron solution visible below one handle. Shoulder impressed with "BOSTON" maker's mark within a wavy banner. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some typical, small in-the-firing flaws to surface. H 14 1/2".
