Fine Glazed Redware Jug, Gonic, NH origin, early to mid 19th century, ovoid jug with narrow, slightly-flared spout, its lead-glazed surface featuring mottled green coloration with orange spotting throughout. Excellent color. A related jug is illustrated in Hollander, American Radiance: The Ralph Esmerian Gift to the American Folk Art Museum. Provenance: Purchased at a house sale in Stratford, CT, less than ten miles from Gonic, NH. Very nice condition. Two minor nicks and light wear to spout. Minor surface wear. H 9".
