Glazed Redware Harvest Jug, possibly Emanuel Suter, New Erection Pottery, near Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, VA, circa 1875, beehive form with two tooled and applied pouring spouts and arched handle with applied pieces of clay, giving it a scrolled appearance. Surface and underside covered in a distinctive lead glaze with brown flecking throughout. A few darker drips of glaze on the handle and shoulder are likely augmented with manganese. Surface wear and wear to interiors of spouts. H 13 1/4".
