Rare Glazed Stoneware Face Urn, Southern U.S. origin, mid 20th century, ovoid form with flared pedestal base, decorated with a hand-modeled and applied clay face including open mouth with broken china teeth. Coggled and combed decoration to forehead. Combed hair around rim and on reverse. Surface covered in a streaky blue glaze. Original drain hole in underside. Two hairlines from rim, measuring 3 1/2" and 1", and a firing crack to underside. H 10".
