Unusual Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Hanging Basket, GA origin, late 19th century, cylindrical form with indented foot, squared rim, and pierced clay tabs at the shoulder for carrying the vessel by a wire bail handle. Surface covered in a mottled, olive-colored alkaline glaze. Missing wire handle. Wear to rim. A 7/8" rim chip. Tight cracks on underside, extending onto base. H 6 7/8" ; Diam. 10".
