Two Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Canning Jars, Western PA and WV origin, circa 1880, both with recessed "wax sealer" rims, one stenciled "A. CONRAD. / NEW GENEVA. PA.," the other stenciled "A.P. Donaghho / Parkersburg. W.V." Conrad jar with heavy chipping to interior of rim, a small chip to exterior of rim, traces of old green paint to surface, and the intials, "BM," written in black on underside. Donaghho jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (of Conrad jar) 8 1/4".
