Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / NEW-YORK," Clarkson Crolius, Sr., Manhattan, NY, circa 1825, ovoid jar with applied lug handles, decorated with a cobalt band around the shoulder and highlights along the edges of the handles. Two minor chips to interior of rim. Exfoliation to bottom half of interior and some additional exfoliation to underside. A number of short surface lines to underside, not visible on interior. Minor base chips. Some typical in-the-firing flaws to surface. H 11 3/8".
