Rare Spongeware Pitcher, Dated "July 13, 1909," Northeastern or Midwestern U.S. origin, 1909, ovoid pitcher with flared collar and pronounced rim molding, decorated with sponged cobalt over Bristol slip, surrounding the brushed date, "JULY / 13 1909," flanked by a freehand stripe. Dipped Albany slip glaze above. Provenance: From a recently-surfaced collection. Excellent condition with a small filled-and-colored rim chip. H 10 1/2".
