Six-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "SATTERLEE & MORY / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1865, large-sized, cylindrical jug with squared spout, circular bunghole, and two open handles. Front decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a leaf. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Desirable form and size. Very nice condition with the following minor flaws: minor chip to front edge of spout, minor nicks to interior of spout, a minor chip to top of bunghole, some staining, and a salt drip to reverse. H 20 1/2".
