Five-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "WHITES UTICA.NY," circa 1875, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a flowering plant bearing large leaves, central blossom, and spotted accents. Essentially as-made condition with some fry to cobalt and extremely minor wear to inner rim for lid. H 17 3/4".
