Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BURGER / ROCHESTER," NY State origin, circa 1860, ovoid jug with pronounced, semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a daisy below the cobalt capacity mark, "3." Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Excellent condition with some minor black paint residue at base on reverse, minor staining, minor wear to base of decoration, and a tiny in-the-firing ping to handle. H 16".
