Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1830, ovoid pitcher with short collar, decorated around the midsection with a leafy stem bearing eight flowers. Swag decoration to collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Significant restoration to collar/rim. Restoration to a thin V-shaped crack at base on left side of pitcher, extending 5 1/2" up base of pitcher. An in-the-firing contact mark to front. Restored base chips. Some faint unrestored lines to base on reverse. Horizontal hairline through handle. H 13".
