Two Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Jars, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1875-1880, a canning jar with "wax sealer" rim and stenciled rose surrounded by the maker' stenciling. "T.F. REPPERT. / GREENSBORO. / PA.," paired with a one-gallon jar with freehand striping and stenciled foliate motif, stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES. / GREENSBORO.PA." Reppert jar with a 2 1/4" in-the-firing flake to top of rim and surface crazing to base/midsection on left side of jar, not visible on interior. Hamilton & Jones jar with a 1" chip to bottom edge of rim, including a thin 3" crack descending from it, two small rim chips on reverse, a small in-the-firing contact mark to left side of jar, and two in-the-firing flakes to bottom edge, measuring 2 1/4" and 2". H (of Reppert jar) 10".
