Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Stenciled "R.T. WILLIAMS. / MANUFACTURER. / NEW GENEVA. / PA," circa 1880, two-gallon semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, paired with a cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, both with R.T. Williams maker's stenciling. Both with freehand striping, flourishes, and capacity marks. Two-gallon jar in excellent condition with a short in-the-firing separation line on interior of rim, some light fry to cobalt, some very minor surface surface, and very minor water glass staining. Four-gallon crock with large restored chips to one handle, spots of staining, a few very minor chips to shoulder molding, and some light fry to cobalt. H (of two-gallon jar) 12 1/8".
