Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Parrot Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER, MA," circa 1870, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a cobalt design of a parrot with crest and swag-decorated body, perched on a leaf. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 7 1/2" crack from rim on front. Two thin cracks from rim on reverse, measuring 3 1/2" and 3 1/4". Light staining to reverse. H 11 1/4".
