One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Strasburg, VA origin, circa 1880, ovoid pitcher with tall, flaring collar, decorated around the body with three vertically-brushed tulips. Stripe decoration to spout. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A restored Y-shaped crack ascending from base on left side of pitcher, part of which extends to rim on left side of pitcher and another part, which extends below handle on reverse. A restored 5 3/4" crack to right of flower at center. A 7/8" chip to side of spout. Shallow chipping to base. Glaze drips. H 11 1/8".
