Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "L. NORTON / BENNINGTON," VT origin, circa 1830, highly-ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a brushed flower emanating from a cluster of leaves. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. As-made condition with a 1" flake to midsection on reverse, minor glazed-over chipping to base, and a few iron pings to surface. H 16 1/2".
