Black-Glazed Redware Vase, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, tapered vase with footed base and flared rim, the exterior covered in a metallic-black gunmetal glaze, likely composed of lead and manganese. Interior covered in a clear lead glaze. John Bell maker's mark on underside. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 7 3/4".
