One-Gallon Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "BOSTON," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, early 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, featuring a light iron-slip highlight over a small "BOSTON" maker's mark at shoulder. Firing flaws to surface, including an iron ping to inner rim area and an iron ping to reverse. A 7/8" in-the-firing chip to underside at edge. A tiny base nick. H 10 3/4".
