Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Chain Link and Fish Scale Decoration, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1830, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated around the shoulder with a continuous band of conjoined chain links underscored by "fish scale" or "grape cluster" motifs related to early Northeastern designs. A 6 1/2" surface line descending from shoulder, not visible on interior. A small chip to underside at edge. H 16".
