Rare Multi-Glazed Redware Cream Pitcher, Stamped "S. BELL & SON. / STRASBURG," VA origin, circa 1890, ovoid pitcher with short, flaring collar, the surface dipped in cream-colored slip, decorated with splashed copper and manganese, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Underside with faint S. Bell & Sons maker's mark. Small surface flakes. A 2 1/2" crack from rim. Tiny nicks to shoulder molding. Some wear to rim and spout. Minor base wear. H 7 1/8".
