Unusual Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Daffodil Decoration, Stamped "MOORE, NICHOLS & CO. / Williamsport, Pa.," circa 1877-1879, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a painterly brushed design of a daffodil emanating from a long-leafed stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with a minor chip to exterior of rim, a tiny in-the-firing nick to top of rim, and a salt drip to left side of jug. H 14".
